Didn't mean to make this an all Topshop post but my most worn shoes and lipstick are the ones above so there pretty much all you will see me in. When I bought this dress I had gone into the fitting rooms with 6 other things, saw this on my way out, hadn't even tried it on in store but got it home and loved it, always works that way.

I love the style and print the most, well what else could I love about it? I don't like things that cling or any sort on bodycon so something up and down is perfect. The floral print is just such a pretty style and will be worn to death in the summer. I just can't stop looking at it, just love it so much, ha!

Hide and no seek

Yesterday me and my good friend Catherine ventured to the beautiful tatton park to get some photographs for Catherine's commercial shoot as part of her university course. The day was filled with getting partially naked in bushes, almost breaking my neck doing the *hair flick* and falling on my backside whilst Catherine snaps my booty in the air. Thankfully the weather stayed nice and there was no rain in site. A Canon AE-1 was used, made in the 80's and expired films were used to get certain blips of light across the photos, which creates such an unusual effect that I have fallen in love with.

First off I apologise for the state of the background in these outfit pictures, you know when your getting ready to go out and everything just gets turned upside down... well yeah, that happened. But I wore this out last night, I love the top and am a fan of Topshop's new pop/comic collection and like adding a touch of it to my normal style. I'm not a gold hoop kind of gyal but have really enjoyed wearing them recently, even if I do feel a tiny bit ghetto.

Crotchet bunting

A little while ago now I was browsing the beautiful misty world of etsy where I came across a lovely little shop called Messy La, I was in search of dreamy room decorations to add that bit of character to a new home. Whilst spending countless hours looking I finally came across this bunting that was needed to add that granny feel I wanted, so a week later I had the lovely bunting up in my boudoir taking pride of place. I'm still in boxes from when I made the move back up north so like seeing a hint of what's to come.

What I wore today to do sod all around the house, I did venture out to check the bus times and it was nice to see the daylight for a change. I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark so seeing the sun sort of hurts my eyes now, but it was lovely. 

 

The grandparents, the pinafore and the fish finger sandwhiches

I spent the weekend just gone with my grandparents, which made a lovely change from spending it with no trace of make-up on my face and just being a pure laze. Instead I spent it at a table top sale, eating fish finger sandwiches, watching harry potter, searching the loft for vintage treasures, finding photographs of my grandparents 'courting', playing endless games of rummikub, swallowing mints and of course taking the above photographs with my new, spoiled rotten canon.

The table top sale we went to was only small but I picked up some lovely vintage photographs of a lovely chap who was trying to get rid of all his old books from the loft too stop his ceiling from caving in (oh the oldies and there jokes). Along with some lovely bone china to add an extra touch to my room and then a tootle into town where I picked up a few more modern beauty bits.

All in all I had a lovely and relaxing weekend, I do love being a pensioner for a few days.

An odd tin or two

I'm a little obsessed with vintage homeware and I recently raided my grandparents garage and found allsorts of beautiful and decorative tins for my room. For me they just add so much to my room and there something I love going on the hunt for. I spend far too much on little odd knic knacs, like a vintage milk bottle and a selection of old plates just to pop out and about. I'm too much of a sucker to stop though, I love re-jigging my room about.

I got the jacob's one from ebay and the nubo and silver jubilee one from three jelly moulds and a wardrobe (which unfortunatly is no longer open). I've found alot of inspiration of how to style them through books like this, this and this. For your own tins and vintage bits you can ask around your family, ebay, online homeware shops, car boot sales and charity shops. I haven't felt like a blogger recently, I've spent the last few weeks making the most of the time I had left with my friends as I made the move up to Manchester a week ago now. I'm in full time work now too which means more money to buy more clothes leading to more blog posts, a win for us all. 

In other news, I bought a tripod the other day and recieved it this morning. A main problem for me when it came to taking pictures was getting the right height with my camera. I was using endless knick knacks around my room to pile up high and hopefully get a decent outcome, but this didn't always work. But now I have a handy tripod so fingers crossed this helps me out.
